Overview of the Recent NMC Notification:
With about 156 new applications from 38 medical colleges, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission gave its final decision.
These applications were either for starting new postgraduate (PG) medical courses or for increasing the number of seats in existing PG courses.
NMC’s Decisions on PG Medical Courses:
Out of the 156 applications, 125 were for starting new PG medical courses, and 31 were for increasing seats in existing PG medical courses. NMC has communicated its decisions to the respective medical institutes via email, as provided in their online applications.

NMC’s Public Announcement of PG Medical Course Decisions:
NMC has publicly shared decisions regarding additional PG medical courses and seat increases. NMC released decisions for 101 applications from 18 medical colleges on April 28, 2024, and for 153 applications from 31 medical institutes on May 4, 2024, following its notification on June 12, 2024.

Throughout May and June 2024, NMC has continued to release decisions, ensuring transparency and timely communication with medical institutions nationwide.
NMC’s Update on PG Medical Course Applications:
The NMC issued conclusions on 868 applications for PG medical courses as of June 3, 2024. This includes 230 applications to add seats to already-existing courses and 638 applications to launch new PG medical courses.
