In a significant development regarding the NEET UG 2024 examination, the Supreme Court has issued stern warnings to the National Testing Agency (NTA) over alleged lapses in conducting the medical entrance test.

During hearings today, the Supreme Court criticized the NTA, emphasizing that it must thoroughly address even the smallest instances of negligence, no matter how minor.

NEET UG Paper Leak and Grace Marks Controversies:

The NEET UG 2024 exam has been embroiled in controversy following reports of a paper leak in Bihar. Authorities arrested several individuals involved in the alleged scam, where aspirants paid substantial sums for early access to exam materials.

Additionally, the issue of grace marks awarded to some candidates has stirred debate, prompting the NTA to withdraw marks from 1563 candidates.

Legal Challenges and Public Outcry:

Amid calls for a fair investigation into the alleged irregularities, petitioners have asked the Supreme Court to intervene and closely monitor the proceedings.

As concerns mount over the integrity of the examination process, stakeholders, including aspirants and medical professionals, have voiced their apprehensions about the impact on approximately 24 lakh candidates who appeared for the NEET UG 2024 exam.

Continuous Judicial Hearing:

The Supreme Court has scheduled further hearings for July 8, 2024, to delve deeper into the issues surrounding NEET UG 2024. Concurrently, the Rajasthan High Court is deliberating on related cases, reflecting the widespread concern and legal challenges surrounding this year’s examination process.
