Why are NEET qualification codes important?

Code 1:
If you’re currently in class 12 (2024) and your results are pending, you can still apply for the test. However, eligibility for admission to undergraduate medical courses depends on passing the qualifying examination with the required percentage during the first round of counselling.

Code 2:
This code applies to candidates who have completed 12 years of study, with the last two years focused on physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, mathematics, or any other elective subject in English.
Those who passed Class 12 at an open school or as private candidates are not eligible. Additionally, studying biology or biotechnology as an additional subject at the Class 12 level is permissible, as per a High Court order.
Code 3:
Candidates must have passed the Intermediate/Pre-degree Science Examination from an Indian Board or University in order to be eligible for this code.
English should be a required subject, along with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology (with practical examinations), and biology.
Code 4:
Students may apply if they have passed the higher secondary examination or an equivalent and have passed the professional/pre-med test in physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English. Practical tests in these subjects must be part of the examination.
Code 5:
You may apply if you have finished the first year of a three-year degree program in biology/biotechnology, chemistry, and physics from a recognized college or university, along with the appropriate practical exams.
You must have passed the previous qualifying exam in English, physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and biology. The exam should be a university exam.
Code 6:
Students who have passed the biology (botany, zoology), chemistry, physics, or biotechnology B.Sc. examinations at an Indian institution are eligible if they have completed at least two of these subjects.
The earlier qualifying exam needs to cover English, physics, chemistry, and biology.
Code 7:
This code includes any other exam that has been determined to be equivalent to an Indian university’s or board’s Intermediate Science Examination.
The test includes physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English, along with practical assessments, according to the parameters and requirements of the Intermediate Science Exam.
