When is the NEET UG 2024 Re-Exam Scheduled?

For 1563 NEET UG candidates who had issues on May 5, 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will allow them to take the NEET UG 2024 again. The NTA has published admit cards on its official website today for the re-exam scheduled for June 23, 2024.

How to Download NEET UG 2024 Admit Card:

  • Go to the official NTA website.
  • On the homepage, click on the link for the NEET UG Admit Card 2024.
  • Log in by entering your application number and date of birth.
  • The screen will display your NEET UG hall ticket.
  • Download the admit card and take a hard copy for future reference.

NEET UG 2024 Re-Examination Details:

The re-examination is valid only for the affected 1563 candidates. Here are the key points:

  • NTA will cancel the scorecards issued to these candidates on June 4, 2024, and will email the true scores (without compensating marks) to the registered email addresses.
  • Option to Skip the Re-Exam: Candidates who do not wish to appear for the re-exam. They will have their results declared based on their original marks obtained on May 5, 2024.
  • Candidates who take the NEET UG re-test will have their new NEET marks considered. While the original NEET marks from May 5, 2024, will be discarded.

NEET UG 2024 Controversy and Re-Test Decision:

The Bihar paper leak scandal shadowed the NEET UG 2024 exam, held on May 5, 2024. The police arrested thirteen individuals, including four examinees and their family members, for their involvement.

The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police reported that brokers demanded fees ranging from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 50 lakh from candidates for the leaked question paper.

Supreme Court and Government Intervention:

Due to the controversy, including allegations of high scores due to grace marks, the Supreme Court intervened. The Union Government’s counsel informed the Supreme Court that a committee recommended withdrawing the grace marks and informing candidates of their original scores.

The NTA has offered these candidates to either retain their original scores or appear for the re-exam on June 23, 2024.  NTA will release the re-exam results by June 30, 2024, to facilitate the start of NEET UG 2024 counselling on July 6, 2024.
