NEET PG 2024 Challenges:
The NEET PG 2024 exam was successfully conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on August 11, 2024. Despite some challenges, including complaints about exam center allocations and rumors of a paper leak, the exam was held without major issues.
NEET PG Exam Conducted Amidst Speculations and Complaints:
Candidates nationwide have expressed concerns about allocating NEET PG 2024 exam centers. There were also speculations about a possible paper leak. However, the NBEMS ensured that the postgraduate medical entrance examination took place as scheduled, addressing these concerns with strict security measures.
NEET PG Exam Day Overview:
The NEET PG 2024 exam was held in two shifts at 416 centers across 170 cities. The NBEMS aimed to choose the best and most reputed centers for the exam.
Admit cards were issued to 2,28,540 candidates, with exam centers allocated within their respective states wherever possible, according to a press release by the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
Central Command Center Ensures Smooth Conduct:
To oversee the smooth and safe conduct of the examination, NBEMS set up a central command center at its Dwarka Office in Delhi. Senior officials from the Union Health Ministry, the Governing Body of NBEMS, and the Executive Director of NBEMS closely monitored the exam process. More than 1,950 independent appraisers and 300 flying squad members were deployed at the examination centers to maintain order.
Additionally, eight regional command centers were established to supervise the exam nationwide.
Security Measures and Social Media Monitoring:
To maintain the integrity of the NEET PG exam, NBEMS implemented heightened security measures. These included close coordination between various agencies and rigorous monitoring of social media platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation.
The efforts ensured that only accurate and authentic information reached stakeholders, contributing to the smooth conduct of the exam.

NEET PG 2024 Exam Analysis:
The NEET PG 2024 exam comprised 200 multiple-choice questions, carrying a total of 800 marks. According to reports, candidates found the question paper to be of moderate to difficult level.
NEET PG Shift 1 Analysis:
Candidates who appeared in the first shift reported that the questions from subjects such as Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Social and Preventive Medicine, and Forensic Medicine were moderately difficult. However, the questions from General Medicine, including Dermatology, Venereology & Psychiatry, ENT, General Surgery (including Orthopaedics), Anesthesia & Radiodiagnosis, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Ophthalmology, were rated as moderate to difficult.
NEET PG Shift 2 Analysis:
In the second shift, candidates also found the paper to be moderate to difficult. While some noted that this year’s exam was slightly more challenging than the previous year, the difficulty level varied across subjects. Questions from Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, General Medicine, ENT, General Surgery, Anesthesia & Radiodiagnosis, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Ophthalmology were generally moderate. In contrast, questions from Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Social and Preventive Medicine, and Forensic Medicine were perceived as moderate to difficult.
