NEET PG 2024 Exam Date Announcement:
Dr. Abhijat Sheth, President of the National Board of Examinations (NBE), announced that they will reveal the NEET PG 2024 exam date soon. In a conversation with The Indian Express, he mentioned that they have presented a plan to the Union Ministry of Education. Once the Ministry approves, they will inform students of the revised exam date. “We are hoping to conclude the process in two months,” he stated.
Sudden Postponement of NEET PG 2024 Exam:
The Union Health Ministry declared about 12 hours before the NEET PG 2024 exam was supposed to take place on June 23, 2024. This decision followed the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak controversies and concerns regarding the integrity of other competitive exams, including the UGC NET exam. As a precautionary measure, the Ministry decided to undertake a thorough assessment of the NEET PG exam processes.

Impact on PG Medical Candidates:
The sudden postponement caused panic and stress among PG medical candidates who had traveled long distances to reach their exam centers. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) expressed concerns over the difficulties, anxiety, and expectations of the NEET PG candidates.
IMA Addresses Concerns of NEET PG Candidates:
The IMA representatives met with the NBE officials to discuss the issues faced by the candidates. In a press release issued on June 27, 2024, the IMA informed that Dr. Anilkumar J. Nayak, Honorary Secretary General of the IMA, met with Dr. Abhijat Sheth to convey the concerns of the NEET PG candidates.
The IMA stated that full-fledged doctors who are NEET PG candidates are either working in hospitals or studying. This sudden change not only affects the doctors and their services but also impacts patient care at several centers.
Urges Quick Announcement of New NEET PG Exam Date:
The IMA acknowledged NBE’s excellence and clean record in conducting medical graduate examinations. They asked for the NBE to provide fairness and openness in the process and to make the revised NEET PG exam date public as soon as possible. Dr. Sheth assured that they would announce the new dates shortly.
NEET PG 2024 Exam Date to be Announced Within a Week:
Dr. Sheth’s statement followed a review meeting between NBE officials and the Union Health Ministry to assess the situation and input received before postponing the examination. He reassured that the integrity of the NEET PG exam was intact and stressed the need to review SOPs and protocols for maintaining the exam’s sanctity, safety, and security. “We will declare the next due date in one week,” Dr. Sheth told ANI.
