NEET Exam Cheating Scandal Uncovered in New Delhi:
In a recent scandal surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024, New Delhi police arrested four people involved in a plot to cheat the examination process.
The arrests include two MBBS students and two others connected to a coaching center and medical school admissions consultancy.
Discovery of the Fraud:
Sumit Mandoliya, Krishna Kesarwani, Prabhat Kumar, and Kishore Lal are the people who have been taken into custody. Sumit and Krishna are MBBS candidates from West Bengal’s and Uttarakhand’s government medical colleges, respectively. While Kishore Lal works in Rajasthan as a medical school admissions consultant, Prabhat Kumar is the owner of a coaching center in Patna.

On May 5, officials at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mehta Vidyalaya exam center in New Delhi identified the fraud. They raised suspicions when the biometric data of Krishna Kesarwani and Sumit Mandoliya did not match. Police arrested both students when the mismatch came to their attention. When questioned, they provided details about Prabhat Kumar and Kishore Lal.
Operation and Arrests:
Special Staff. A team carried out a thorough investigation under the direction of Inspector Sanjay Kumar Gupta. The inquiry includes raids and technical tracking in several areas, including Delhi, Alwar, Jaipur, and Noida. In the end, Kumar and Lal were arrested in a Noida hotel.
Kumar and Lal confessed under interrogation that they had hired students with excellent scores and paid them to take exams for other students. Candidates paid between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh for sending proxy students to take the NEET exam.
The scam brings to light the continuous challenges in maintaining the validity of competitive exams like NEET, which are mandatory for Indian medical college admissions. To make sure that these kinds of acts are stopped, the police are still looking into every aspect of the operation.
