In an additional chapter in the ongoing NEET 2024 exam scam in Vadodara, Gujarat, police have arrested another person. This scam has been in the news for weeks, with multiple arrests and many frauds exposed. To learn more about the latest arrest, read the blog below.
Arrest in Vadodara:
The Panchmahal police recently arrested Anand, a resident of Maneja, Gujarat. They initially arrested Anand in Darbhanga, Bihar, then took him to Gujarat for further investigation.
How the Scam Worked:
According to reports, Anand connected medical aspirants with Parshuram Roy, who runs a visa and overseas education consultancy firm in Vadodara. Students paid huge amounts of money to pass the exam, and Anand received a commission for bringing in these students.

Deputy Superintendent of Police N. V. Patel explained Anand’s role in the scam:
“Anand’s role was to bring students and get them in touch with Parshuram Roy. If the students agreed to pay for passing the exams, Anand would get a commission.”
Tip-Off and Initial Investigation:
The scam was exposed when a tip-off to the Panchmahal Collector revealed that a teacher named Bhatt planned to help students cheat during the NEET 2024 exam.
The police found Bhatt, who was also the Deputy Superintendent at the exam center, with a list of 16 students, their roll numbers, and examination centers. Parshuram Roy shared this information through WhatsApp.
Bhatt admitted that he had taken Rs 10 lakh from these students to help them cheat in the NEET 2024 exam.
Ongoing Investigation:
The police are now investigating whether Anand was fully aware of the scam or if he was just bringing students to Roy without knowing the extent of the cheating operation.
Earlier, the Bihar Police arrested over two dozen individuals, including 14 cheaters and candidates, for their involvement in the NEET UG 2024 exam scam. These individuals came from various districts in Bihar, including Katihar, Purnia, Vaishali, Gopalganj, and Patna.
The authorities have registered separate FIRs against these individuals. As the investigation continues, they expect to uncover more details about the NEET 2024 exam scam. The authorities are working to uncover the full extent of the operation and ensure that they bring all those involved to justice.
