Ongoing Investigation Leads to More Arrests:
The Panchmahal police have arrested two more individuals for the NEET 2024 exam fraud, which took place at a Godhra school, one of the exam locations in Vadodara.
Recently, authorities arrested Sharma, the principal of Jai Jalaram School and the NEET coordinator for the Godhra center, along with a Godhra resident named Vohra.
Details of the Scam and Arrests:
Sharma also worked with Bhatt, the first accused, to tamper with the NEET answer sheets.On May 5th, the police arrested Vohra after discovering he had given Bhatt Rs 7 lakh, which they found in his car during an investigation by the education department.
Kirit Kumar Patel, the district education officer for Panchmahal, filed a complaint, which led to the raid, which exposed the attempted scam.
On May 8, officials filed an official complaint against Tushar Bhatt, Parshuram Roy, and Aarif Vohra for planning to use illegal methods to help at least 26 students pass the NEET exam.

Planned Tampering and Foiled Attempts:
The FIR stated that students were instructed to only attempt the questions they could solve. Leaving the rest of the answer sheets blank. The scam group’s agents intended to fill in these blanks after the exam. The inspection squad raided the NEET center on May 5. Based on a tip-off received by the Panchmahal collector, and foiled the scam plan.
Godhra Deputy Superintendent of Police N. V. Patel confirmed that Sharma and Bhatt planned to manipulate the OMR answer sheets so that the accused students could unfairly get better ranks. As the interrogation of Bhatt and the other suspects progressed, Sharma’s involvement was confirmed.
Connections and Further Investigations:
Five people have been arrested so far, Anand, Roy, Bhatt, Sharma, and Vohra. Anand, a Vadodara-based education consultant who is originally from Bihar, helped students get in contact with Parshuram Roy. Who runs a visa and overseas education consultancy firm. Anand’s job was to bring in prospective medical students and introduce them to Roy.
Authorities took Bhatt, a geography teacher at Jai Jalaram School and the superintending officer of the NEET exam, into custody just one day before Sharma’s arrest.
Sharma is expected to appear in court right away, and Anand has been kept in police custody till May 23. Police have extended the custody of Parshuram Roy. From whose office they recovered cheques signed by the NEET candidates involved in the scam.
Investigations continue to uncover the students who approached the accused to cheat on the NEET exam. The authorities focus on finding every detail to make sure that such offenses don’t happen again.
