Understanding the Insured Persons Quota:
Children of employees insured by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) have the right to these seats. The allocation will be made by merit and preference, is based on an all-India basis with no domicile restrictions, and is decided by merit and preference.

Eligibility Criteria:
Insured Person Status:
The parent must be an “insured person” as per the ESIC Act by September 30, 2023.
Age Limit:
According to the ESI Act 1948, a dependent male child should not be older than 21 years as of the last date of the NEET UG 2024 However, dependent, single female children are excluded from this age limit.
ESIC Reservation Criteria:
The reservation for the IP Quota follows central guidelines:
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- OBC-NCL (as per the Central OBC list): 27%
- EWS: 10%
- PwD: 5% (Horizontal Reservation)
How to Apply for the Insured Persons Quota:
Candidates need to apply online. Here’s how
- Online Application: Visit the ESIC website and click on the link to apply for the “Ward of IP Certificate.”
- Login and OTP Verification: An OTP will be sent to the mobile number of the insured person as per the ESIC database. Use this OTP to log in.
- Complete the Form: Fill out the application form online.
- Download the certificate: After approval, download the system-generated “Ward of IP Certificate.”
- Check the status of your certificate on the ESIC website using your username and password. If issued, download and print the certificate. If rejected, the reason for rejection will be displayed.

Photographs:
- Passport size photo of the candidate (5 to 50KB)
- Passport size photo of the insured person (5 to 50KB)
Proof of Date of Birth:
- Birth Certificate or Matriculation Certificate (10 to 200KB)
NEET Admit Card:
- Admit card of NEET UG 2024 (10 to 200KB)
Affidavits:
- Female candidate’s affidavit as per Annexure-4 (10 to 200KB)
- Insured person’s affidavit for a female candidate as per Annexure-5 (10 to 200KB)
