NEET UG 2024 Candidates Demand Re-Examination:
Following the NEET UG 2024 paper leak controversy, candidates have openly demanded a re-examination to ensure a fair admission process. Charges of corruption and misconduct have now affected the National Eligibility cum Entrance Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam, which is required for MBBS admission.
Arrests and Allegations:
The controversy came to light when Bihar police captured 13 people, including four examinees and their family members, for being involved in leaking the NEET UG question papers.

Reports indicate that the leaked papers, along with answers, were provided to around 20 aspirants a day before the exam on May 5, 2024. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, which has taken over the investigation, said the brokers charged each aspirant between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 50 lakh for the leaked papers.
The EOU further reported that about 35 candidates got the leaked question papers before the day of the NEET exam.
Rage on Social Media for Re-Examination:
Disappointed and seeking justice, candidates have gone to social media sites like X (previously Twitter) to request a re-examination. Photos of candidates holding placards with statements like “We Demand a Fair Examination” are frequently shared. One person questioned the government’s silence, asking, “Is the Government of India asleep or too busy with elections? Come out of your election, or the young will bring you down.”
Another user highlighted the scale of the leak, stating that “WE DEMAND RE NEET a large number of aspirants got the paper the night before.” Teachers answered candidates’ question papers in the exam hall itself, There are many more… Is this a joke??”.
Socio-political activists like Mukesh Choudhary and Dr. Vivek Pandey continue to press the request for re-examination. And questioning the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) denial of the leak.
NTA’s Response and Ongoing Appeals for Justice:
Despite the widespread outcry, the NTA has asserted that the NEET UG 2024 exam process was not compromised. Except for one rare incident.
The agency assured the public, “Aside from this isolated incident, the NEET UG 2024 examination began smoothly and is being conducted peacefully at all other examination centers across the country.”
The NTA notes that the incident has not compromised the integrity of the examination process in other centers. However, numerous candidates and activists believe the NTA’s response is insufficient. Dr. Pandey proposes transferring the responsibility of administering NEET to AIIMS due to recurrent problems.
The continued demand for a re-examination grows as candidates and supporters scream for justice and a fair admissions process. It is now on the authorities to resolve these problems and restore trust in the examination system. Follow ZyNerd for the latest updates and news.
