NEET counselling consists of four rounds, All India counselling is conducted for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, Deemed university seats & Central university seats like AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, and AFMC. This is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)

State Counselling is conducted by each state for the state government quota seats and the state private institute seats. 

All India Counselling consists of four rounds – Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy Round. Most state counselling also follows a similar process of 4 rounds, which are Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Stray Vacancy Round.

Which candidates are eligible for NEET counselling?

Candidates who scored more than 50 percentiles are eligible to participate in NEET All-India Counselling.

In 15% AIQ counselling, all state government medical, and dental colleges provide admission to medical students on their campuses. Through this counselling, students will be enrolled in medical colleges all over India.

These seats will be allotted based on the candidates’ All India Rankings. Candidates participating in AIQ counselling are also eligible to participate in state quota counselling for their respective states.

The NEET 2024 test participants will go through the counselling process. Candidates who have passed the NTA-declared NEET cut-off are eligible for counselling. The cut-off score is the minimum score required to clear the NEET exams as the qualifying score. The qualification percentages for different categories are as follows:

  • General / EWS category: 50th percentile
  • OBC/SC/ST category: 40th percentile
  • Physically handicapped: General / EWS category: 45th percentile
  • Physically handicapped: OBC/SC/ST category, 40th percentile
