Candidates Demand New NEET UG 2024 Exam Due to Paper Leak Allegations

Supreme Court Petition Filed:

Shivangi Mishra and other candidates filed a Supreme Court case against the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 1, 2024. The petitioners, whom advocate Usha Nandini V. represents, claimed that question paper leaks compromised the May 5 NEET UG 2024 exam.

Allegations of Malpractice:

The petition claims that the alleged paper leak violated Article 14 of the Constitution, which protects the right to equality. The petitioners argue that some candidates gained an unfair advantage due to the leak, compromising the integrity of the exam for those who took it honestly.

Call for Re-Exam:

In the petition submitted under Article 32 of the Constitution, candidates ask the Supreme Court to order the NTA to retake the NEET UG 2024 exam. They want the exam canceled and rescheduled, believing it to be unfair.

There have been earlier petitions about the NEET UG 2024 exam. While considering a similar appeal on May 17, the Supreme Court refused to suspend the results’ release. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud of India stated that the results of the national exams could not be postponed and announced that the next hearing on the case is planned for July.
