NEET PG 2024: NMC to Extend Deadline for Medical Colleges to Submit Admission Details

NMC Extends Deadline for NEET PG Admission Data Submission:

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially announced that it will extend the deadline for submitting admission-related information for NEET PG 2024. This comes after the NMC’s admission monitoring portal, where medical colleges are required to submit student data was taken offline for updates and maintenance.

While the original deadline was set for April 7, 2025, the Commission has confirmed that a new submission date will be announced through a formal notice once the portal is fully operational.

Reason Behind the Extension:

The delay is due to ongoing technical maintenance on the admission portal. In an earlier communication, NMC issued letters dated March 25 and March 29, 2025, requesting all medical colleges and institutions to submit NEET PG admission details by the specified deadline. However, due to system upgrades, the commission has temporarily paused the process and assured that colleges will be informed once the portal is live again.

What Medical Colleges Must Know:

Medical colleges are expected to submit accurate information about all students admitted through NEET PG 2024 using the online portal available on the official NMC website.

All admissions must be done strictly based on merit and transparently and fairly, as per regulatory guidelines. In addition, the Directorate of Medical Education from each state and union territory has been advised to submit admission data from their region via email within two weeks of the final admission date.

Failure to Submit Can Lead to Disqualification:

The NMC has also clarified that the names of students will only be published on its website if their admission details are submitted within the official deadline. If a college fails to upload the necessary data, it may lead to serious consequences, including the student’s discharge from the course and possible legal action against the institution. Hence, the responsibility of providing accurate and timely information lies completely with the colleges and institutions involved.

Next Steps for Medical Colleges and Institutions:

All medical colleges are advised to regularly monitor the NMC’s official website for the next update regarding the revised deadline. The submission process will resume as soon as the portal maintenance is completed. Until then, colleges should ensure all NEET PG 2024 admission data is ready for upload and fully compliant with NMC’s standards.

Post-Exam Admission Process:

As NEET PG is a highly competitive and regulated examination, colleges must understand that securing a seat involves more than just the entrance score. The post-exam admission process, including accurate data submission and transparency in seat allotment, is crucial. With the deadline extension, medical colleges now have additional time, but it must be used wisely to avoid non-compliance.
